With the birth of the IMAC World Championship, it was apparent that Wayne Matthews had done more than struck the match that started the fire. Ever since that first very successful IMAC World Championship came to a close at the AMA National Flying Site in Muncie, Indiana, that fire has been growing larger and larger as the news spread around the World. Almost on a daily basis, Wayne is being contacted by countries that are not only curious about our way of flying Scale Aerobatics; they want to become affiliated with IMAC. The list of interested countries has grown so fast that it was decided by the Board of Directors to form a committee. One that would handle all the communications between the International Miniature Aerobatic Club and all those interested in competing by the same rules around the World that we in the U.S. have grown to appreciate.
So the International IMAC World Competition committee was formed. The BOD was unanimous in its vote not only to form such a needed committee, but to also appoint the visionary person that saw the future in what was started and how far it could spread.
Wayne Matthews was asked to chair the committee and be the liaison to the BOD. He accepted without hesitation. Wayne has the communication skills and knowledge of the Scale Aerobatic Rules, as well as IMAC rules. That is what made him the best choice to fill this position. The BOD is confident that Wayne can and will help make the IMAC style of competition a worldwide way of flying Scale Aerobatics.
