In the past I have used the excellent materials provided by Bruce Hanley in the NW zone to give IMAC overview sessions and Judging seminars. I plan to use these this year for the two Judging seminars I am hosting. But, I am wondering if there are any other materials or if we have some kind of official "Instructors Manual?" I do plan to use the new Basic and Sportsman training guides...

I have attended a judging seminar and given 5 or 6 of them myself. I am not very experienced myself given that we are just starting out with IMAC in Alberta. I'd really like to improve my own judging skills to be sure I am passing on the best possible information to pilots in my area. There is no National judging school this year. So what would be the absolute best place to go to get training? I can go to my regional seminars in the NW, I can out out to Ontario... point being I have to travel no matter what; therefore, I want to make the most of it and get the absolute best help I can.

Any opinions as to which seminar I should attend?

Well - I did try that. I think my mail is hitting his junk filter (or something like that I hope!) I have emailed with him in the past but my last few have not got replys...

Hi there Chris.... The best start would be through your Regional Director. Keith will advise of what you will need.

It is very important that the individuals who are doing the training understand what to teach, so I would get a hold of Keith and start from there.
Thanks
Wayne

Thanks Wayne and Kent,

I decided to go out to the seminar in Ontario Canada that the NC guys are hosting. I figured it would be nice to go meet the IMACers from Ontario who I have email with a lot but never met in person.

Next time there is a National school I will be there for sure. Rick recommended the Muncie one as well... very tempting as I have never been there, seen the AMA museum etc.

I have put on 5 judging/intro to IMAC sessions in the past two years using Bruce Hanley's materials... which are fantastic. Most of our local guys are just starting out (Basic, some Sportsman) so I'm looking forward to going to a session with really experienced pilots. It should be fun!

Chris.

I would love to attend. I'll have to be very nice to my wife and see if he is okay with this. I looked at the flyer and it certainly looks awesome. I could sit in the judging chair for most of the weekend and man I would learn a TON I'm sure.

It is probably a long shot given I am going to the Ontario seminar too... but you never know. I do have a the big 40 birthday in May which has to be worth some brownie points.

Don it was nice speaking with you also. We have a great BOD this year and its really great how you are being so responsive.
