Hey guys.... I'm stuck at home with work...but just heard from Mark McClellan and Curtis Cozier.... They are sending me updates with photos & probably scores when they get them.

I will update this thread as soon as they come in. I used this section of the website so that non-IMAC members who wanted to see what's happening could do so...
Some photos follow..

Guys... I just heard from Mark McClellan.... He's in the hospital with a very serious medical situation.
He has developed two abscess' in the lower section of his intestines and he was admitted into the
hospital last night as soon as he got back to NC. The doctors performed a catscan and he will undergo surgery
this afternoon as quickly as they can fit him into scheduling. He is pumped up right now with pain killers, so
his pain is not as bad as it was in Jacksonville.

I will let everyone know as soon as I hear anything further regarding his surgery.
Keep Mark in your thoughts & prayers. He refused to leave Jacksonville because of his committment
to the contest....

Everyone - I'd like to say thanks, the Woodward clan had a good time this weekend. We picked up a trailer (finally), so we have this to look forward to outfitting. It was nice to ride home and not be in "time-out" as Vanessa puts it, because the Dalton 300 fuselage was not quartering off the car like before. Primo and Sergio, it was great to see Lucy, Tony, and Vanessa playing together throughout the weekend. Yolanda and Mariano, thank you for sharing your trailer in the mornings too. It is really great to see the young'ins run around and get a chance to be independant in a safe environment. Kids need that (and it helps the parents too!!). I'd much rather see this that kids stuck on video games or indoors too much.

For the flying, having not seen many people since last regionals you can really tell where people have impoved a LOT over this season. Friday's weather just sucked. I bet it was 30+ mph in aloft. If you took off and didn't have a strategy in place for the sequence - you were going to be hosed!! Iit was tough day to execute a precision sequence.

This was great contest to wrap up the season. The "score-keeper" was especially sharp posting rounds very quickly!!
Thanks again everyone,
Jim

Kevin, Sounds like I hurt your feelings with my comment sorry about that, BUT you have to admit IT WAS UGLY, and you did do it my way, Curtis and I were about to jump in the trailer, Kevin, as Jimmy who would put it THAT WAS A DARN HONEY. Man, don't you know the first time I do the roller at a contest I better nail it or I will never hear the end of it.

Mark,
Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for all your hard work this weekend. Many thanks to all who made this weekend one I will remember. Kent You did a great job keeping everyone moving and getting it done. Thanks for all the good food Kevin, Mark, Lynn, Rita...It was great! Peter thanks for calling for me and keeping me encouraged. Kevin, special thanks to you for all the help you have given me this season helping me improve my flying. Last but not least thanks to all the pilots for the special time spent together this season, I had a great time flying with you. I'm already looking forward to next year...I think...not sure about those unknowns though.

Took my lunch break this afternoon and went to visit Mark for a few minutes. They had him doped up pretty good so at least some of the pain was gone. He said he was ready to do some torque rolling!

I think he may have to wait another day on the surgery though. From what he said, the doctor wants to have a gander at him before he does the procedure. I thought it was nice gesture to have at least one date before they went that far anyway.
Sorry Mark, I couldn't resist. You did say something about going both ways the other day anyway didn't you?

Other than being trapped in a hospital bed he seemed to be in good spirits. That could have been the meds though I guess. HMM.

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon Mark. Hollar if you need something.

Looks like its going to be a blind date!
Mark just called and said the doctor was coming up for a visit and off surgery they would go. Let's keep Mark in our thoughts and prayers. Mark has been looking on the positive side.... He said "after surgery he would be able to have a BM and wipe all at the same time".

Well Marks out of recovery and in his room. Found a large horseshoe shaped abscess, they have drained and pack it. He will have to go through another bout tomorrow and after that its a two and a half weeks or so to recover possibly more could be less. This depends on his rate of recovery. Doctor said he let this carry on to long before seeking medical attention. His illness was very close to blood poisoning. Mark should make a full recovery with only a few more hurdles to clear.

Please keep the thoughts and prayers coming as we know he still needs this.

More as I get it......

Hey primo its fine lol. I found it kind of funny. Kent couldnt believe I pulled it off.

Guys... Just spoke with Mark this morning (Tuesday)... He sounds a bit groggy & has a morphine pump when the pain gets unbearable.

His doctor said he was lucky & as Kent mentioned, they may have to go back in.

He is in OK spirits...but not the ol' Mark as we all know. The doctor did not find any rabies in the blood tests...so I'm off the hook on this one!!

The great hunter is out with his dog searching for the "Grey Fox". Well the "Ole Grey Fox must still be deep in his den because the hunter and his dog is unable to find him. Well.... It goes something like that!
Well sounds like he feels much better. He is out walking trying to create a movement :-) He says they may let him go home today however he will have to make return trips to the hospital for physical therapy.
I will update when more comes available.

Wow, fantastic pictures Dowd!!!! Thank you so much for capturing the spirit of the event! It was truly that good. I can't remember a better time at ANY r/c event I have ever attended. I sincerely hope we can do this again next year. Gateway R/C Club is willing and able and if the weather cooperates, there is no better venue. I can't promise venison again, but we will try. I CAN promise night flying under construction lights at every event from now on. I think the night flying was a big hit and we will continue the tradition at every event here in Jax!

Spoke with Mark this morning.... In good spirits...but he's not sure he's ready to go home as yet. The doctors may release him today, but in Mark's mind it may be too early & the required daily trip to the hospital for bandages etc. might be too much.

Roy's photo looks like he's lost some weight....but looking good.

Dowd...those photos are very NICE.... I looked through all of them last night. I certainly WON'T miss next year's event Kevin, and I won't pull any more jokes with fox bites. As long as Mark promises to stop calling me "Old grey dog" ...

Stay safe Mark...we all worry about you...regardless of how we feel

He's free....Just talked to Mark and he is being transported home by his mom. He should be home soon and will be recuperating over the next 3 to 4 weeks. He will have to make daily trips to the hospital for physical therapy. If you get a moment drop him a note to let him know your thinking about him.
