The next few steps were to drill the L shape bracket and locate the mark on the plywood, I took a 8/32 bolt and grounded the tip to a point, made a center punch out of it.

Once I was happy with the location I instaled the blind nut to the ply, sorry didn't take a picture of that. AS you can see in the pitcure I located the stab in place so that it would not move while the glue was drying. I used some wax paper between the stab and the fuse.

The last picture shows how Im keeping the L bracket square to the fuse. A few things to remember is the wax paper and add some lubricant to the bolt so it can come out of the blind nut. After I get the other side done I will drill and glue some round stock in to the ply block.

OK I have the other stab hard point done, now I can set the stab incidence, getting somewhere now. I still have to instal some round stock on the hard points.

Well it looks like I can get back on building; got the house ready to put on the market, just hope it sells in good time.

I’m planning on going to Brent’s house this week sometime and sheet the other wing and rudder. As you can see the stabs are ready and I have the servo doors installed. In the meantime I cut the strips of balsa for the top and bottom decks.
The last picture was just for fun.

If you want to do some sheeting this week it will have to be tonight or tomorrow night. I will be heading to Virginia Friday morning and wont be back until probably monday.

Hey guys, I hope everyone has had some time to go and fly this season in between all the wind and rain OH yeah and clouds of dirt. I guess we all know the weather is a little crazy this time of the year.
I called Brent and asked him if we could sheet the second wing and without hesitation he jumped at the chance THANKS. Started by sanding on the core to get some of the high spots off from the wire cutter. To protect the table when we spread the glue we taped some wax paper down. Now to add some glue and spread it all over the sheet, almost had a WTF moment did we put the glue on the correct side and we did. Once we had the glue spread we put it back on the
(Shuck, or chuck) which is it? Is that spanklish getting in the way.
Spray some water on it to start activating the glue then we put the wing core on the sheet, we follow the same steps for the bottom sheet and in the bag it went. Before going to Brent’s house I had been working on getting the fuse where the stab is going to be glued in place, you will see on the pictures where you must cross grain the balsa for strength. The plans don’t show this but I added two more cross section of 3/8 balsa so that the 1/8in sheet has more area to glue on.

From here I’ll be working on the wing’s LE, TE, once that is done I’ll be ready to set the incidence. It might be a slow go as I have to clean the area every time I finish for the night have to keep the house clean for any showings, sucks.

Last night I cleaned all the overhang on the wing, I used the hand planner for the LE, TE and for the end caps took most of it down with 80grit and finished with 160. WOW I have worked on it for two nights in a row.

The next step was to mark center on the LE. I used a different method this time and it save me a lot of time, instead of holding the wing vertical and trying to hold the straight edge on the T pins I used the foam core as my base and held the straight edge against the LE, I used washers to help me find the center. You will see wha I mean on the pics.

OK guys, I have the LE and TE done and the end caps glued in place, I did some sanding last night. Also glued in place the balsa sheet where the fin is going to be located.

I was hoping to have the plane ready before I moved to GA but we have an offer on our house and we have to be out of here by May 27th so I'll continue to work on it as much as I can.

On the first pic you can see where I stoped after using the hand planner, then I did the other side. AS you can see i left some of it hanging over the sheeting so that you have roon to play.

Before gluing the main root cap I posintion it nex to the fuse along with the wing to see if I needed to sand on it but it was on the money, I got lucky on the first one because I didn't check it.

OK guys, I’ll start with a few pictures of the set up, I spent a great deal of time getting the table level, once I was happy with it the next step was to check the fuse and it was perfectly square. I had Craig stop by the house to check my set up and he gave me some good tips on how to do it, this does not seem very hard to do but very easy to make a mistake, so once I check it 500 times then I’ll have the courage to glue the hard points.
