Wayne Well was just wondering when they would be released. I am planning on two more contests before the end of the year. I am moving up to intermediate for 2011 and need as much time as I can get before the Superstition Challange in Apache Junction coming up in January. |

That certainly isn't a problem. The 2 DA's I have in the trailer right now both have problems that I once again have to spend money on to ship back to Arizona. The 2 DLE's I have are absolutely flawless brute powerhouses. You might consider your comments before making such a broad sweeping statement. I like my engines and you like yours. No need for this 2nd grade nonsense.

All four run flawless and DA backs them 100% and service is better than dle by a long shot. I personally wouldn't use, let alone spend money on some asian knock off. Iv'e seen dle's have more than they're share of problems so I can only hope your experience with them is as equally colorful!!! Until then, take your dle's, wrap yourself up in a chinese flag and go take a plunge.( leave my friends alone!) |

OK Guys... lets calm down.... We have enough on our hands right now in finishing up the year 2010 of competition, Florence in the SW & The SE Regionals in FL this weekend. 2011 sequences are already out, which is the subject of this thread..... so lets continue with what's important...& that is to enjoy our sport of Scale Aerobatics & develop our skills. Safe flying... Wayne |

As far as Chinese products go, better check just about everything in your home and then reevaluate your statement. |

Oh, just wondering, how can you comment on the service of DLE?? Do you own one and have you needed service? Just curious as to your credentials to make this comment. I on the otherhand can comment on both DA and DLE as I own BOTH. If you would like first hand information, just ask and I can tell you about both. |

KnowCrashes.....No offense man!!! I just enjoy some friendly ribbing now and again. I have nothing against DLE or any engine manufacturer. I could care less who uses what as long as we have fun doing what we are supposed to be doing and this practicing the 2011 sequence!! What do think of 2011 Sportsman? I have been helping a couple of of our guys look at it and it flows really nice. I am struggling with the Advanced sequence but hopefully I will figure it out. |

May I respectfully suggest that future entries you make are without the 2nd grade labels directed at others on this line, not to mention still others you have posted for which I will refrain from attaching any similarly negative labels. I too don't care about the choices in engines etc. that others make, but I do think that if we were both honest, both of us could have handled all of this with much more care, as I intend to do in the future. Oh, and sorry about the "Plunge" comment.....its really tough for me to type nice when all I see is red......peace! |

THANKS Guys.... I really appreciate how it all worked out. Some like Yaks....some like Extras.... JR & Futaba...etc... The choices are up to the pilots. Where it REALLY matters is on the line in front of the judges when our knees are knocking, our mouths are dry & the heart is pumping with adrenalin all over!! Believe me... I KNOW the feeling!! best regards, Wayne |

I bit my tongue until I had time to learn and fly it. The Unlimited sequence is a huge step backwards. We should be heading towards more Geometry with less snaps. Our class is already too heavily decided on snaps, now we have ten snaps in a ten maneuver sequence. 11 in the alternate. The snap sequence in the first maneuver is horrible. The "down" snaps and gotcha maneuvers are better left in the unknowns. "that being said!". I appreciate all the work from the sequence committee. I don't envy their job one bit. In general, good work on the new knowns. |

But I disagree with the 'step backwards'. First - as an Unlimited pilot, or any class pilot, you need to accept that you are going to miss snaps - period. How much you miss them by is another topic, lol. I do not think a contest is going to be decided by who hit all their snaps or not. Its just as easy to loose points on matching radius', centering manuevers, keeping roll rates the same, etc., etc. I once heard froma a very well known Unlimited pilot the way he practices for a major event...that he doesnt practice snaps until his hands bleeds, because he knows hes going to miss them anyway during the contest. Instaead, he concentrates on all the other criteria...once that is 100% - then he practices snaps. I for one like the new sequence...I m looking forward to it, challenging and makes you want to get out and practice it. With that being said - just enjoy the time being spent flying the plane, and when you do hit that snap - thats just icing on the cake! Take Care, joe |

It will never be a Dalton or Carden but with 9157 servos,12x and (of course a DA150) on greeves, my son took 2nd out of 18 in his first contest. Its been a great bird now that all the chinks are worked out. |

The Florence IMAC contest is tomorrow and it looks good so far. They were talking about how Attaway road over there was named after Tim Attaway. our s/w regional director. I guess someone there recalls how Tim used to be a lady bug farmer on that road just north of the bridge on the east side.....some 2300 acres that he kept covered in black mesh to retain the billions of lady bugs he would sell to growers and retailers each year. But some nut sold him non-uv mesh and eventually the ladybugs mostly escaped so he sold off the land and retired in california were he now sells insecticides........and so the story goes.................... |

They should throw in a tail slide in the unlimited known. Would you rather have that or snaps. |

Didn't tail slides go away because they were unpredictable to do and judge? If not tail slides, maybe 16 pt rolling loops or knife to opposite knife snap and a half or..... |

Hi Randy.... Tailslides are legal in the Unlimited class only. You will find them mainly in the Unknowns. The SE Regionals which were held this past weekend had 3 Unknowns. Two out of the three Unknowns had tailslides in them. Wayne |

Posted By Kevin Garland on 09 Nov 2010 22:18 Posted By Wayne Matthews on 09 Nov 2010 20:28 Hi Randy.... Tailslides are legal in the Unlimited class only. You will find them mainly in the Unknowns. The SE Regionals which were held this past weekend had 3 Unknowns. Two out of the three Unknowns had tailslides in them. Wayne Thats why you were not there...now I know! Hey Kevin... I was actually working....so I had to miss the event. Our Librarians selected the Unknowns.... And believe me Bruce...Silver Fox has learned new tricks. Whether I can see the plane or not It's the new thingemazoo that you just program in the entire flight & press the GO button!!! Wayne |
