Last year, Mark and Cheryl Jorgensen along with, Will and Marian Berninger joined Tina and I for a Thanksgiving party. We had a traditional dinner with all the fixing's, a real nice bonfire, did some trail riding, and as luck would have it, we got a break in the weather and got a bunch of flying in!
All in all, we had four days of good friends, good food, and like minded fun!
We, the six of us, decided to make this an annual event and we decided to invite our IMAC friends to join us.

When; 11/24 thru 11/28
where; Clover Creek Aerodrome, Toone,TN 38381
Accomadations; we have several bunks available in the party barn plus, several hook-ups for campers still available. You will be able to use the hanger for your planes.
Schedule of events; we will have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner Thursday afternoon in the party barn. Cheryl and Marian will be fixing evening meals Friday and Saturday. Flying,if weather allows, will NOT start before 10:00 a.m. This will allow the local hunters to do there thing without being disturbed.
One evening, we will have a huge bon-fire and the rest of the evenings we will have fire pits going. The pool is closed for the season but the hot tub will be open. Indoor nite flying can be done in the party barn or equipment barn. We might have Night Vapor pylon racing!!
If the weather totally blows, most of our activities will be in the party barn. Someone needs to bring xbox type games to hook up to the big screen.
What to bring;
A good attitude!
Food and drink for lunch and breakfast. You will be able to utilize the cook house.
Adult beverages. We will have a keg that needs to be floated.
Plenty of warm clothes,,,did I mention the weather?
Again, a good attitude!

If you would like to join us, we need to know ASAP so food can be prepared. The beds and R/V hookups will be on a reservation basis.
Call Tina or I @ 731-658-4805

see you soon,
John

Thursday (goble goble) 10%, Friday 0%, Saturday 20% chance of rain at CCA

Good Food, Great Friends, and it looks like some good weather for flying

I guess I am going to have to take the trailer

But then going to Clover Creek without an airplane to fly is like going to the beach with out a bathing suit

John & Tina,

Thanks for the invite. I really enjoyed myself the 7 days I spent with you and the rest of my IMAC friends during the past Invitational.

Unfortunately I am Calgary Alberta right now where we have 4 inches of snow, -22F and 20mph winds and I get to work outside in this untill December 2nd. I t would be so nice to be South. Hope All-Ya-All have a great time EH.

Finished building the wood pile for the bon-fire yesterday.
I think we may exceed a 100' flame this year!

Put up a split rail fence on the bank of the creek by the waterfall so no one gets lost in the night.

Tina got the fridge stocked and I hear, Cheryl is baking a bunch of pies!

We still have some rooms available in the party barn and also some hook-ups for your R/V.

Charge your batteries,,,looks like we may have some good flying weather.

see you soon,
John

I really wish my family and I could come and celebrate with you. I would really love to come and help cook a Thanksgiving feast for all my IMAC freinds. My wife has taken a second job to help pay thing off as fast as possible. Time to get out of debt and stay that way. I hope you do this again next year. We would love to spend a long weekend with everyone!

Thanks Gil,,we had a blast.

Maybe next year, more of our IMAC friends can plan on joining us.

A few notes;
Wednesday thru Friday, we were limited to indoor flying with the vapors and heli's. Lots of fun! Amazing how durable the Vapors are with all the midairs and rafter excursions we made. Lots of food and drink those days!

Saturday and Sunday we moved outdoors for some IMAC flying. Gil and Mark worked on the 2011 Intermediate sequence and I tried the Unlimited sequence for the first time. Both sequences fly very nice! Congrats to the sequence comittee!
Saturday, the ladies all tried flying the Radian! Tina and Marien are naturals and flew quite well. Pam had difficulty hearing my instructions because Gil was laughing so hard. Cheryl came up with a new way to fly. Instead of flying thumbs or pinching, she used her index finger! I don't recomend this style.

The bonfire went off well. however, the flame did NOT reach 100', only 60. I hope Marien can post some pictures.

All in all we had a great time and I hope we have more visitors next year for the Third Annual.

see you soon,
John

Wow what a great group and a great time! Marian and I really enjoyed our trip to see John and Tina. The "big" fire was pretty serious, looked like a house burning down.
We just can't say enough about the group we got to spend time with this year, John, Tina, Mark, Cheryl, Gil, Pam all the puppy dogs and of course Marian. The fence or split rail they put up by the creek is a great idea, kept me alive LOL.
And the food----yum. We worked and worked on eating (and drinking) and hardly put a dent it it all WOW. Everyone went over the top on this one. Story telling, sharing experiences, sharing ideas and just having a relaxing time. The ladies even got some stick time with John's Radian.
Marian has some evidence errr um some pictures to share of the main fire, not sure where to post them. Hope we did not get Gil in trouble with Pam (who is even nicer than Gil).

Not flying before 10:00 A.M. worked out great. I don't recall hearing any complaints before 10:00, 11:00 or uh, nevermind.

Thanks again John and Tina, you two are special not only to Marian and I, but to IMAC, modeling, and just about anyone that knows you two. Your flying field is ok too (wink). Your vision and thoughtfulness is amazing.

John,

Next year add about 5 gallons of 100/115 AVGAS, Will can supply, and I am sure the bon fire will exceed 100 feet.

I use to fly full scale and belonged to an awsome club, 500 members plus with one club aircraft and about 40 member owned a/c. It was more of a social thing. hanger Dance/Pig Roast every month during summer months. The "Bon fire" ttok most of Saturday to construct and ussual was built from trees on the proprty that had fallen down. Imaging 30 foot teepee style wood pile with with avgas as aclerant. man you couldn't get within 50 feet of the fire for up to 3 hours or you would cook yourself.

Looks like you guyz had a good time. maybe next year! EH!

Jim,

We used diesel fuel to help start the fire. About two gallons around the perimiter.
I imagine the av/gas may explode and turn your trees into toothpicks!
See you next year,

I'll give you guys a call to find out which spot I have!
Depends on work....but it may be VERY late Wed. when we get there!

Curtis,

Hook up your R/V in the same spot you used last time.
In the morning, we may move you next to the cook house.
Have a safe trip.

see you soon,
John

Must be nice! I am hoping to be there around 9 or sooner. Depends on when the little red head can get away from work. The sourdough must know what is comming up. It is very lively and bubbled all over the counter! It really smells great!

Yep...

WONDERFUL weekend.. Thank you John and Tina for hosting us.
The Fun meter was pegged all weekend.

And the Food?
Wow..
Great turkey with all the goodies!

Some guy smoked pork for 22 hours for pulled pork on Friday, and Brent made an amazing prime rib with great goodies on Saturday

Brent, you were a little stingy on the portions though!

Great fun for the adults and kids!

Thanks again!
