The length is not set in stone yet. This is a prototype and is subject to change. The tail is adjustable. You can see two positions for the horizontal stabs plus the turtle deck is slotted so the rudder can move. Al has a whole stack of foam to cut different wings too. So it could end up anywhere from 116 long to 120 long, and a wing span of 127 to 123. Bill you can come up and fly it when I get done.

I made some progress this week. The only way I have to put fuel in is to remove the canopy and fuel thru a fill line. It would be nice to have some kind of a device that would let the fuel line come out of the fuse so I could put gas in it. Anyone have any ideas? Like any redneck products that would be trick? Like a McDaddy of fuelers? Here is a couple of pictures. |

I am having trouble with the visual... can you take a pic with those red and yellow wings on the fuse? What a nice plane! i think that fueler thing is called a McFaddy... and you can pay with moonshine! Nice job on the plane! It seems like it will be a demon of an airplane... |

Jerry, Good luck with the maiden on Saturday. I would love to come up; but Herb and his folks are coming up to visit this weekend. Take some pictures and save a flight for me! Maybe I should consider building a lenghten 2.7 version and use my wings and tail section. Power would be a DA 120 on pipes. What do you think? |

Oh man Bill. That should be awesome. A DA120 on pipes will be too much power for that plane. The kit will build lighter than the ARF you have now. |

She flies!! We had a very good day at the field. This plane flies awesome. We got a total of five good flights, mostly going through the trim process. The CG was spot on balancing on the wing tube. I want to get a few more flights but right now it looks like the thrust is good where we have it. We had a little cross wind and it was a little choppy, so it will be better to fly it a few more times to get it in perfect trim. The tracking was great on both up line and down line. It has a very axial roll with no radio mixing at all. What we determined is that you can fly this thing with out doing any radio mixing and you will be darn close. We ended up with only 2% of rudder to aileron and elevator mixing at the end of the day. I had good help. Al brought Gerry Neil and Kevin Young along to test fly the plane. The three of us took turns having a blast. My DA150 had no problem pulling this plane. That was one of the things we were concerned about due to the size of the plane. With these wings it is 127 inches wide and 119 long and still only 38 ½ pounds. Now I have to finish the cowl, get some decals on the plane and get some more flights in. I’m smiling from ear to ear. Look out Intermediate, here I come |

Hi All, Had a great day thanks to Jerry and all the work he put in for us. We are very happy with how the extra 300CS builds and flys out of the box. That smile that Jerry has from ear to ear!! I've got one too!! By the way Bill. We already have the 2.7 extra 300CS fuse mostly built!! I'd post pictures of todays event but not sure how. Thanks Al Young JTEC/RADIOWAVE |

I had the privelege on Saturday of watching the maiden flight of the new extended fuselage J-tec extra 300. I watched in awe as the plane flew nearly perfect with no radio mixing. This plane has a lot of potential for any IMAC class. Congratulations to Jerry and Al on a job well done. |

I went out and flew a little today. I have changed to a 30X12 Light prop. I like it a little better than the standard weight. It has a better throttle response and the plane is a little more stable when you nail the throttle. I even had to take a little right thrust out with this prop. Matty Matt is the master a setting up a plane. He helped me get her locked in and ready for the IMAC season. Here are a couple of pictures of the plane, (with wheel pants too!) |

Sweet Jerry! Are you using the same wings as the stock 3.2's? Or same airfoils and extended wings? Pete |

It is the same profile as the ARF. The fuse was a little wider that the ARF, so the wing span came out to 127 inches. Al wanted to keep parts replacement parts for all of the ARF guys, so that was where he started. We have some alternative wing, stab, and rudder profiles in the works.
