Kent Porter has undertaken the task of steering TEAM USA toward the IMAC World Championship in Muncie Indiana on September 2-6, 2014. Kent’s experience in IMAC as a competitor, Contest Director, AMA Scale Aerobatics NATS Event Director, Judging School Instructor and SCORE! Software instructor is vast.
Assisting Kent, will be Kurt Koelling as Team Captain of TEAM USA. Kurt is well known, worldwide, as a fierce competitor in the Unlimited class and also on the world stage as an Invitational pilot. Kurt has achieved what no one else has in IMAC’s history, by winning the coveted Bennett Cup at the Scale Aerobatics NATS, FIVE (5) times: 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Kent will be formulating plans with the team to have TEAM USA develop practice strategy, equipment backup, and fund raising to help offset costs. A special forum area has been started as a communication vehicle for the team and early registration for the World Championship has begun. Kent has advised that a TEAM USA logo is being developed and will be released as soon as it reaches completion.
It will be no easy task, to mold the team and prepare them for the World Championship. The competition will be stiff from all attending countries so Kent will have his work cut out.
Congrats to Kent and Kurt.
