There are always a 1000 last minute things to make sure you pack for a trip to the Nats. If you are the event director and you have been working on pulling this thing together for months and months, make it 10,000 things. If you are Phil Vance, each of the 10,000 things are in their own designated place in their own designated box and have been triple checked, bar-coded, color-coded, stapled, laminated, cleaned, oiled, brushed….well you get the idea. And you wonder why the event runs do smoothly! Needless to say that once everything was in it’s designated place, the RV hooked up, and the cats all ready for the trip, Phil was vibrating in place…ready to hit road. He fought it as long as he could but at 3:46 AM this morning, the Vance mobile, cats and all, rolled on to I-52 heading toward Charleston, WV and points north. As of this post, they are about 30 miles south of the Ohio border at a cat rest stop grabbing a bit of breakfast. So just as always, Mr and Mrs Reliable are taking care of business, getting there early to make this the best Nats possible. Thank you Phil and Rhonda! Roy
