Nats Quick Links…
1200 miles – 36 hours

About 10:30 PM, we received a call that was completely unexpected…April’s mother had suffered a stroke and passed away.  April expresses her appreciation for all the thoughts and prayers that have been extended by our IMAC family.  This has been a particularly difficult year as a number of our members have lost loved ones (as you may know if you have been following some of the threads on the IMAC forum).  This morning we broke camp and began the sad but uneventful drive home.

On the Nats scene however, it is still my intention to bring you up to date information as it happens…just going to be collecting it via email and phone. I will be posting the daily results (including the pilot’s individual score sheets) to the site every day at the conclusion of flying. Also, I should be getting a pretty steady stream of photos from folks like Mr. Photo man – Don Hamilton.  So…don’t despair!  The blog lives and I will do everything I can to keep you up to day.

Sunday brings us the pilot’s meeting, the judges briefing, and some practice time as the free flight guys pack it in. Talk about crazy! -Take a perfectly good airplane, start the engine, and launch it in the air…with no controls.  Now….jump on your motor scooter and go flying across hill and dale, ditch and gully...to hopefully find it. Go figure…it takes all kinds!

More tomorrow!
