A big hello to our membership!
I trust everyone is enjoying our new website phase I and using some of its many new features. I have received many compliments on the new website, and frankly, I’d like to recognize Mr. Roy Barrow, our webmaster for all of his hard work and dedication in making this a state of the art website.
Phase II of the website is in the works and progressing along with the scoring module and PM features for our forums. More training videos and judging enhancements are in progress as well. We continue to plan and seek additional articles and new content for our libraries as well. If you have a topic you feel you would like to write about, please drop an email with your ideas over to Roy (webmaster@mini-iac.com).
Our list of sponsors continues to grow with an impressive lineup of sponsors who support IMAC. Please consider supporting one of the vendors the next time you purchase something for your IMAC needs.
This month I’d like to update you with a few NOTAMS:
- The Aresti Aero-Cryptographic Systems Company has asked the IMAC organization and its membership to respect their copyright protected materials. Examples include the Aresti Catalogue of Aresti figures and any Aresti figure reproductions for sale. Mr. Jose Aresti has granted the IMAC organization exclusive use of the figure nine in our logo. We, as an organization, will not copy or reproduce the catalogue of Aresti figures, and we have removed from our website any and all Aresti materials that are not specifically approved by Mr. Aresti. Shortly, we will be placing a link to the Aresti Company website where you may purchase a copy of the Aresti Catalog. We ask all our members to join us in respecting all copyright laws.
- Also, I’d like to pass on a message from many of our IMAC sponsors. Please understand that when they donate a product or some equipment, it is unacceptable for us to call them and ask to upgrade, exchange, or return for a cash refund. This creates additional burdens on our sponsors and the great folks that are giving from their hearts to our organization. Please be mindful of their time and accounting practices. Enough said!
- We are again attending this year’s 55th Annual Weak Signals R/C Show in Dayton, Ohio. On Saturday April 4th, we will draw the name of the Extreme Flight plane giveaway raffle winner to the lucky pilot that renewed his or her membership last year. This plane will have all of the goodies as well. These donations are provided by Mr. Chris Hinson from Extreme Flight, Mr. Dave Johnson from Desert Aircraft, and Mr. Peter Goldsmith from Horizon Hobbies. Again, as in past years, we have been asked to conduct two Scale Aerobatic seminars at the show. These popular seminars are always well attended. We certainly hope you will stop by the IMAC booth and drop in for these seminars if you happen to be at the show.
- I will be traveling to Chile in March. Carlos Paez and I will be conducting a judging seminar along with judging an IMAC contest. I look forward to returning with lots of pictures and a contest report of our Chile International IMAC Affiliation.
- The Southwest, South Central, and Southeast regions have already held judging seminars this year. North Central is currently getting read to host their first of several as well. Please consider giving some of your time to volunteer to help out with these very worthy activities and give back to “YOUR IMAC”.
This month I’d like to recognize one of our sponsors, Al and Kevin Young from JTEC RADIOWAVE. They are great folks, and have one stop shopping for all of your IMAC needs. Al and Kevin thank you for supporting IMAC!
That’s it for now, look forward to seeing you out there flying, and having a great time. Remember we, as your Board, stand ready to move IMAC to the next level. As always, we welcome your input and suggestions.
IT’S TIME TO FLY!
