IMAC Sequence Committee Report – July 2009

Your volunteer group of ISC members have been hard at work, churning out Unknowns to meet the demand for IMAC Unknowns nationally and internationally. The 2009 competition season has shown a marked increase in contests both here in the US and overseas. As of the end of July, the committee has processed 112 requests for Unknowns and has distributed a total of 448 unknowns to the various CD’s requesting them. Please bear in mind that this data has been gathered from the website and there are several contests using the same Unknowns on the same weekend.

The committee has also started working on the 2010 Known proposal for each class which will be sent for scrutiny to the BOD when that task is complete. This year we are doing the procedure a little differently. The committee has been split into two sub-committees. One set will be working on Sportsman & Intermediate while the second set will work on Advanced and Unlimited. Basic will be done by all. We are in the process of gathering up the proposals and then it will be off to the field for the initial test flying of these.

This year there is a specific “push” to streamline a set of sequences with a small footprint for each class. Once these initial proposals have been flown, the members will report back to the committee on their findings and suggestions. From there, further enhancements will be made & the process is started again. When each sub-committee is satisfied with their proposals, we will meet again as a whole & look through all classes with a “fine tooth comb”. From there, we will finalize each class prior to sending them up to the BOD for approval or change.

Since we do have two members who will be flying in the Tucson Shootout we are projecting a finish date of September 30th, 2009. This will give some practice time to Kurt Koelling and Tim Attaway for preparation for the event and also allow our “Northern brothers” to be able to practice before winter sets in. Our responsibility is not being taken lightly and the entire committee has worked well together as a group.

We have now added Ted Barrette from Canada & Curtis Cozier from Georgia as new members on the ISC. Pride Grimm had extenuating circumstances arise that had to be dealt with and unfortunately had to leave us. Thank you, Pride, for your input towards the betterment of IMAC on our committee.

For those members who may have missed it, Unknown catalogs are now available from Aresti if you need or want to practice for your Unknowns. Please refer to our previous report HERE for further information.

At the NATS in Muncie, two of our distinguished members received the coveted PRESIDENTS AWARD for outstanding service to IMAC. They are Mike Stoner and Tom Wheeler. Mike has been a stalwart in IMAC and initiated our first scoring program which was updated each year until 2009. Tom has been a past President who steered us through “doldrums” and both have been members of the Sequence Committee since its inception.

Well all…there’s work to be done & practice to be sand-papered.

See you all on the line!!!

Where can I find the 2009 Basic sequence for IMAC competition? I would like to know the order of the maneuvers, the name of the maneuvers and the Aresti symbols, all on one page if possible. I am new to IMAC and cannot seem to find this information on your web site.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Bob... I did not see your question prior to today.... The information that you are looking for is in the Training Section of the IMAC website. When you log in as a member the link appears at the top of the link bar over on the right.
Regards,
Wayne
