Dear pilots and friends,
The Mexican season 2010 has come to an end with the Second National Championship IMAC Mexico 2010, having a great success. The competition was held in the city of Puebla, Puebla, and for 3 days long, all pilots demonstrated why they are the best of Mexico. Friday was practice day, the weather was incredible with moderate wind and pleasant temperature; airplanes were adjusted and trimmed according to the altitude and field conditions, enjoyed a great familiar atmosphere and huge friendship from every single pilot, their families and from all the people at the field.
We were privileged to have Don Hamilton, President of IMAC USA, accompanying all pilots throughout the day, sharing with them, chatting and supporting everyone with his knowledge and great skills for the sake of our great IMAC Mexico family. We also had the pleasure to have Manuel Santos at the event, maximum exponent of freestyle in our country, he offered his help to all the pilots and was right there giving a hand to whoever needed it. During Friday afternoon and night Don shared all his great knowledge about IMAC giving a magnificent conference to an enthusiastic group of pilots, letting us learn from his experience and his love for our beautiful hobby. In a short recess, our good hosts from Puebla were kind enough to give us a good dinner with traditional food from the region.
On Saturday, first day of competition, the weather was exactly the same as the day before, although colder. Competition started and all pilots flew 2 times with 2 known sequences each time, making a total of 4 known sequences. We really want to thank Don Hamilton for judging each and every category from Basic to advanced, we know the big effort that this takes and once again Don demonstrated his great passion for IMAC by sharing with all the pilots his thoughts in regards of every sequence flown. During a short recess for lunch, Manuel Santos flew a fantastic demo, where he demonstrated why he is the best Mexican freestyle pilot and competitor for several XFC editions. At night unknown sequences were handed out at the hotel, they were sent by IMAC USA Secretary, Wayne Matthews.
Sunday weather was also the same as Friday and Saturday and so competition started. Don Hamilton once again judged every category and after Advanced, Intermediate and Sportsman pilots flew the unknown sequence the basic pilots flew the last known of the competition and they were followed by freestyle. After all rounds were done, the award ceremony for the National Championship started, Don Hamilton congratulated each and every pilot in the contest and all happy we headed home after a fantastic championship closure.
During 2010 IMAC Mexico held 5 contests in different cities of the country, on 2009 we had 5 contests and in 2008 we had 6, all were distributed in a big part of our country, we have been working hard promoting and making our great IMAC family bigger, we´ve had great acceptance from the pilots interested in IMAC and we are supporting Basic pilots as they will be the ones that will be carrying on with IMAC in our country, with all of this we are now making history for future generations. It´s very important to IMAC Mexico to put together contests where security; familiar atmosphere, friendship and improvement of our skills prevail. Along with all of this, flying under the same rules as in other countries is of big importance for us, so we can one day achieve the dream that Don Hamilton shared with us, that is: making a global competition.
We would like to share with you the IMAC Mexico web page: http://www.imacmexico.net
