Welcome: Wayne Matthews started the meeting at 9:03 P.M.
2014 World Championship: Wayne started the discussion with a recap of the online meeting with Wayne Mathews, Phil Vance, and Dave Mathewson (Craig Baker and Will Berninger where unable to attend the meeting). The meeting was held online through a go-to-meeting. Wayne was able to share the IMAC website to Dave and show the international participation on the website. Dave thanked IMAC for being concerned and being vocal regarding the upcoming proposed FAA regulations. Dave was made aware the AMA scale aerobatic rules were being used internationally. September 2nd 2014 through September 6th 2014 was confirmed for the event. Dave did not see a problem (he would confirm with the accounting department) with AMA opening an account for IMAC in order to utilize the non-profit status. Wayne stated he mentioned the number of IMAC pilots who also pay AMA membership and he inquired if the AMA would be able to assist financially with the world championships. Dave would need to check with the AMA executive council before answering any funding questions. Phil stated the meeting was very positive and the AMA is supporting the WC idea. The AMA would be able to provide the manpower the get the flying site ready for the event. Wayne stated he has contacted the other SIGS who held world championships and are using their event planning rubrics to make sure the IMAC world championship is as prepared as possible. Wayne showed the ‘draft’ WC logo and asked the BOD when they would be willing to announce the world championship event. The BOD agreed to wait until the AMA confirmed the ability for IMAC to use the ‘non-profit’ status. The BOD will discuss the official announcement via the online BOD forums. A discussion of the number of United States teams was initiated. Wayne asked if it would be possible to split the US into two or three regions so more pilots in the United States could participate. He hopes to have approximately 120 pilots competing in the event. The discussion was tabled for discussion on the BOD forums.
Michael Kranitz/ website discussion: Tim Attaway attended the AMA show in Ontario and met Michael Kranitz. He had a small booth at the event and was sharing his online magazine and RC event registration calendar. He wanted to share his excitement about RC and RC events using the Ipad. Tim stated he wanted the BOD to participate in an online meeting with Michael so he could get a chance to share his vision and website with IMAC. Phil asked if a link was available to review the site. Tim stated there was a link in the original email sent to Wayne Mathews (www.rcpilot.com). Tim reiterated Michael’s excitement and asked again if the BOD would consider listening to a presentation. The BOD is not interested in giving up IMAC contest registration to another website and is concerned about losing advertiser support to another site. The current IMAC website not only registers IMAC members for a contest, but it also stores contest data for regional point use. IMAC members have a place to view event information, register for contests, participate in discussions about IMAC… the IMAC website. The BOD will continue to discuss this idea on the BOD forum and set up a time to meet with Mike Kranitz to discuss the Ipad magazine/ website.
Toledo Show: Phil started the discussion by stating Tom Wheeler has reserved the rooms and will assist Phil in setting up the IMAC booth. The people attending are Phil and Rhonda Vance, Tom Wheeler, Wayne Matthews, Mike Roxberry, and Mark McClellan. Tom will bring the bench, chairs, and TV setup for the booth. Brian Sanik was asked to send the brochures and IMAC banner for the event. Craig asked if the BOD had already approved the IMAC participation, and if so, maybe IMAC needs to consider participating in other shows instead of always focusing on the same show in Toledo. Would sending a team to shows around the country to advertise IMAC in the different regions be a better use of IMAC funds? Craig asked if we are getting the return for our money from the Toledo show. Phil asked about other large shows. Curtis volunteered to look into creating an IMAC booth in the Perry swap meet. Wayne Matthews stated he was able to discuss IMAC website advertising with manufacturers who are now advertising on the IMAC website. The Toledo show is well attended by manufacturers from all over the RC community. Wayne asked if Craig would be willing to organize which event IMAC should attend. Craig and Curtis volunteered to put a booth together to advertise IMAC at the FX3d event in Jacksonville Florida. Tim Attaway stated he put together a booth at the AMA convention and was able to advertise IMAC for about $600. He was not able to get advertisers for the IMAC website like Wayne did in Toledo, but he certainly was able to share IMAC with RC pilots. Phil Vance also mentioned IMAC use to advertise at the Joe Nall behind the main line gazebo. Wayne Matthews pointed out that advertising in Toledo is not easy and requires dedicated individuals who can share their passion for IMAC with others. The show is well attended and those who volunteer in the booth are active the entire show and IMAC puts on seminars during the show. IMAC just needs committed people like those who volunteer for Toledo each year to commit to the events and go advertise for IMAC. The BOD will reevaluate the effectiveness of the Toledo show and discuss in a future meeting to decide how to best promote IMAC.
2013 RCP (Roll Judging): Wayne Matthews put the RCP 11-008 up for reviewing during the meeting. Craig Baker described the RCP and noted the discussion on the IMAC forum. Craig stated he personally likes the rule change and stated roll rates are probably misjudged currently and Pete Castine’s discussion clarifies concerns with the RCP. Curtis stated he originally had issues with the RCP but certainly understands why the RCP was created. Will Berninger stated the rule change came up because of the idea of double jeopardy. The rules committee researched how roll rates were being judged and realized IMAC pilots were not judging roll rates correctly. The first point of a hesitation roll designated the cadence of the roll and any change afterwards would require a one-point deduction. A pilot who rolls too quickly to his first point in an eight point roll and then rolls normal the remaining seven points would lose 7 points according to the old rule. The new rule would deduct 1 point for the one roll rate change from the first to second roll. A majority of the BOD agreed current judges are not judging roll rate changes correctly according to the old rule, but instead judging more like the new rule proposal is stating. The RCP 11-008 is not changing the way IMAC pilots judge, just clarifying and redefining the rule to match how they are judging now. The BOD unanimously decided to send the RCP 11-008 to the AMA to be part of the 2013 RCP process.
Financial Report: Phil Vance presented the 2011-year in review end operating statement. The BOD will approve the edits recommended by Tim Attaway via the online forum and Phil will send the report to Roy Barrow for posting on the IMAC website to satisfy the IMAC By Law requirement. The current January 2012 financial report is attached below. IMAC’s total cash on hand (PayPal and checking account) is $ 23137.39 as of January 25, 2012.

Wayne presented the 2012 budget. The BOD approved the projected 2012 budget below.
