Eddie Bernaldez In 2004, I heard about a precision style of flying that involved duplicating full scale planes. I had been a pattern flier from back in the early 80's, so it peeked my interest. I went to my first contest in Sherman TX. and was hooked ever since. I have been in R/C since 1978. In my years of flying, I have flown everything from trainers to jets to heli’s. I have been my local clubs Vice-President now for 4 years. I am on my second year of working on the ISC and enjoying it. I spent the last two years as the SCARD and Chief judging instructor. I have helped with putting on our regions last three judging schools.

My everyday life includes (at this time) being engaged to a great gal which most everyone knows in the SC area. She reads and calls Aresti better than most. I am the Director of the Paramedic Program at Kilgore College. I have been in EMS for over twenty years and been teaching for 13 years. I have 3 grown kids on their own and a 15 year daughter. I also have two wonderful little ones (future step children). I hope to convert one to an IMAC pilot one day.

There is still many challenges in our region and I plan to do the best job I can to promote our IMAC contests.

South Central Regional Update – 6/9/09

As I sit to write this update we are half way through the 09 season. Boy, it is going by fast. We have completed six contests so far and each one has had a great turnout. I have realized that weather has been a factor on a couple of them too.  Melissa and I have been to two contests so far and have seen lots of new faces and some old :). We have probably the best group of core IMAC flyers that any region could ask for. The CD's that have already held their contests have done an outstanding job. I have heard nothing but good things from the pilots when I have visited with them. The IMAC NATS are around the corner and I know everyone that is planning to make the trip is getting things ready. I can't speak for everyone but the NATS have always been a lot of fun and a great place to make friends from other regions.

If you are planning to make the trip hopefully by now you are registered and have a list of things you are going to take with you. Please  if you have pictures from any of the contests or of a new project send them to Melissa our IREPORTER so she can get them up for everyone to admire. If anyone has a good article they would like to contribute please do so, it will help fill our page up.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all the dads, but remember most of us couldn't enjoy our flying without our better-halves  behind us and supporting us also.

Please note that their will be a contest date change on the page soon. Sherman is still on during Labor Day Weekend just  waiting on the flier. Please put this one on your list. I believe it is out longest running contest.

See you at the NATS!!!!

Eddie,

What is the status on the Abilene contest? On their web site it shows July 25-26. But we have not seen anything on it.

Thanks for the help.

Eddie,

I go through Abilene at least twice a week on my commute. Do you need me to do anything?
