Eddie Bernaldez In 2004, I heard about a precision style of flying that involved duplicating full scale planes. I had been a pattern flier from back in the early 80's, so it peeked my interest. I went to my first contest in Sherman TX. and was hooked ever since. I have been in R/C since 1978. In my years of flying, I have flown everything from trainers to jets to heli’s. I have been my local clubs Vice-President now for 4 years. I am on my second year of working on the ISC and enjoying it. I spent the last two years as the SCARD and Chief judging instructor. I have helped with putting on our regions last three judging schools.

My everyday life includes (at this time) being engaged to a great gal which most everyone knows in the SC area. She reads and calls Aresti better than most. I am the Director of the Paramedic Program at Kilgore College. I have been in EMS for over twenty years and been teaching for 13 years. I have 3 grown kids on their own and a 15 year daughter. I also have two wonderful little ones (future step children). I hope to convert one to an IMAC pilot one day.

There is still many challenges in our region and I plan to do the best job I can to promote our IMAC contests.

South Central Opening Update - 2010

Hi there South Central!

HotGlasses_200Well the holidays are behind us and 2010 is here!  That means that a new IMAC season is among us and it is shaping up to be an awesome year. We have several new things that are in the works.

The first thing that is new for 2010 is our region is hosting not one but two judging schools.  The first judging school will be held at Tarrant County College again on Feb. 20 and then the flying portion will be held at the Thunderbird field.  If you missed this last year, you missed an excellent experience.  The facilities are beyond anything we could ever ask for and the SC guys seem to really enjoy it.  The second judging school will be held in Tulsa, OK on Mar.13.  With the help of Dale Latham, we are able to provide a judging school for the guys that are in the northern part of our region.  We are hoping that we can host these two schools to educate our region on the IMAC rules and to better educate our region so we can have consistency on the flight line.  This is a great opportunity to introduce the new and upcoming rules that are being proposed for the upcoming seasons and to get the insight from our region for us to represent during  IMAC Board meetings.  We are your voice!

The next thing that we are working on for our region is the contest schedule.  We are working really hard to lock down a concrete schedule for SC. We are excited to announce that will be having a contest in Little Rock again plus many more that we have grown to love!  We had a great turn out at several of our contest and the competition was fierce.  We represented all classes very well.  We appreciate all of the CD's for all their hard work this past year and hope that we can top it this season.  If you are planning a contest for your area, please try to get a date to me.  We want to establish a solid schedule for our season so we can get this year started off right!

The last thing that we would like to add is our appreciation for our SC region.  We saw a lot of new faces last year such as Jack Bowell, Jason and Carla, Nick Stuckey, and many more. They proved to be a great asset to our region.  We have such a strong IMAC family in SC and it is great that we can add to that in such a strong fashion.  We are so excited about this season and can't wait to get it started.  We have really missed our IMAC family and can't wait to see everybody again!

Till then, try to stay warm and we will see you soon!!!!

Eddie and Melissa

Hello Eddie;
This is Terry McMahen again here in Georgetown, TX and I was talking to one of my buddies and he informed me that there is to be a contest somewhere around Seguin, TX in the near future. Do you know anything about it? Thanks.

Paperwork has also been submitted for the 14th Annual IMAC contest in Sherman Texas for Labor Day weekend. Please keep your schedules clear as we are going to make it the biggest yet in our history. Lining up pilot prizes and raffle prizes already. Never too early to start I am finding.
