Hi everyone…
I hope everyone had a great holiday season. As we start 2009 I'd like to thank everyone who voted in the IMAC elections. From what I was told, record numbers voted in all regions. It really shows we have a lot of dedicated IMAC'ers all over the world.
I would also like to thank everyone for their support in electing me to the NC Regional Director position. I don't claim to have all the answers but I promise to make myself available to anyone who has a comment or concern that relates to our region. Please feel free to call me or email anytime.
Some very talented individuals have stepped up to the plate to assisted me for the next two years and I would like to introduce each one of them now.
Lew Sheffield:
What can you say about Lew... Anyone that knows Lew knows that if your around Lew, you are going to have a good time. His infectious personality takes over and he is always a great person to have around. Nobody can dead stick a plane like Lew!
Ed Rogala:
I've known Ed for several years and have always found him to be super knowledgeable and always willing to help out anyone who needs anything. He also builds some of the nicest planes around. Ed's willingness to help our region is greatly appreciated.
Mike Roxberry:
Mike is no stranger to helping out with North Central business. He helped Bob Hudson while Bob was RD for the 2007-2008 seasons. We are lucky that he isn't burned out and is still willing to lend his expertise to us. Thanks Mike!
Rick Kroeze.
Rick is one of our more active Canadian IMAC'ers.. I have talked with him on several occasions and always find him willing to share his insightful thoughts on things. I felt I needed a Northern representative to keep all of us abreast on what's happening up in Canada and I couldn't think of a better guy to do it. Thankfully he said yes.
Ron Freeman:
I met Ron almost two years ago at a Intro to IMAC Seminar held in Chicago. I remember he was one of the guys who flew 3 or 4 times after the seminar looking to soak up as much info on the sequence as he could get. He then made it to one or two events in the remainder of the 2007 season. In 2008, he was a fixture on the NC scene. He always has a smile on his face and is one of those guys who completely fell in love with IMAC as soon as he tried it.
As the new IMAC Board of Directors gets it start I can tell you that we have some extremely motivated, talented people leading us. The discussions the BOD has had leads me to believe we are headed down a very good road
The new website is online as you can see. This has been a monumental task. I think the place looks great and while it may not be what you are used to, give it some time to sink in and then you will really appreciate all you can see and do here.
Contest Directors, if your contest is not on the current schedule, please get it there as soon as you can. The earlier the better.
Judging School:
I want to thank Kurt Koelling and Tom Wheeler for hosting our judging seminar for us the past several years. They definitely deserve a break. Ken Mcguire, Marian Berninger and Will Berninger have decided to put on the 2009 Judging school for us. I know I speak for everyone when I say THANK YOU! Dates are listed in the NC schedule. If you have not attended a seminar, please try and make it to this one. Its the best way to ensure consistent Judging and will REALLY help you with your flying.
A huge thanks has to go to Bob Hudson for his dedication to our region the last two years. You leave big shoes to fill but as long as you will still take my calls, I feel confident I will get the help when I need it.
For now, try to stay warm, don't glue your fingers to your winter projects and we will talk soon.
