“Zoom, Zoom” just begins to describe the great time at the Zillah Aerodrome. Perfect mid Washington weather (a little breezy on Friday but the weekend was fine) and scrumpdiliocious vittles at the “Touch N Go” Café kept pilots, pit crews and spectators tanned and well fed.
Like Danica Patrick at the Indianapolis 500, Cheri Kuhn put in a stellar performance and took home Bronze to keep the boys at bay. We expect to see many more podiums out of Cheri this season.
My local airwave sources & spies advise;
- congratulations to Bill Fong for his perfectly executed, “extra” snap in his sequence Sunday afternoon. Even with this maneuver, he missed the podium by only half a point.
- Cheri thanked the crowd and “nobody else” for the stiff competition in the Basic class.
- “De Man” Dhiman (Harv) had a fight on his hands and managed to eek out a Gold in the presentations.
- Proficient Piorun also had his hands full and managed a Gold after Sundays flying festivities (Unknowns).
- a dozen Sportsman pilots fought bravely and flew hard, forcing Pete Johnson to dig deep for the top spot on the podium.
- there were no crashes, accidents, meteors or Big Dipper sightings reported.
The club did a great job of hosting. The breakfasts looked amazing and all had a SAFE and enjoyable event.
All Had A Great Time….. As reported to Yours Truly, Peter Butschek.
