Tim Attaway

1986 my son was born and I found radio control airplanes that year. My interest was always to fly the most aerobatic airplane I could find. Early on it was a Chipmunk and then Goldberg Ultimate bipes and now I am starting my 7th year in Unlimited flying.

The 30 years as an educator was enjoyable .....and now a gradual accumulation of responsibilities have come my way and that makes me happy. President of my home club for 12 years, AMA contest coordinator for 10 years, AMA AVP 2008, Scale Aerobatic Contest Board 3 years, a year on the ISC, Associate Regional Director for a number of years, and now the Regional Director of the South West. My biggest thrill is making the Tucson Shootout each year and trying to improve enough to challenge the youngsters that seem to be proliferating as each new year dawns.

The challenges ahead for me and for IMAC are a constant source of satisfaction as well as just another opportunity to excel in this life. I just hope to continue this passion for flying as long as I can and I hope to pass it on to many.

HOW ABOUT THIS….LET’S DO BOTH VEGAS AND SUPERSTITION !

Remember and consider the following:

· There is no limit on the number of contests a region can have in a year.

· All contests in the region/USA are equal in value.

· You need your best five (5) contests.

· Vegas is a great venue with nothing else scheduled in the month of September.

· Superstition, Mesa (EVA) is a great venue and nothing is scheduled in November.

· After all…..what are we famous for in the Southwest.. Good weather and fun year round.

· This spreads contests around where many can attend.

· Bakersfield proves that Free Style is prime time and a Superstition 3 day event could be an extraordinary, fun time.

LETS JUST DO IT!!!!!

Since there is no points boost for a regional event. This will make the last contest of the year the Regional Championships. So EVA wins the event and Vegas gets a second contest in September.

At least that is how it looks to me.

I'm thinking the same thing. I'd think there should only be one year end contest. So, I would think this makes EVA the year end contest and championship event. I'll go to both, so it doesn't really matter to me much.

i think it is a good idea to have more contests.one resone i think vegas is a better choice for the regionals is because everyone would go, so the whole family can have something to do there. and vegas is a historic field:[]

I like Vegas for the regional because it reminds me of the last TOC in 2002.It is as mentioned by #dom bomb ," a historic field ".

It is Ray. It is a fun and easy field to find. I put my vote to Vegas.
