I just got my hands on a used plane with a new DA170 on stock mufflers. I found a set of MTW TD 110 Cans and ordered new headers from DA. My question is with the cans touching the wing tube, I will have to cut the header length to 11 inches. What is the best length for a DA170 and is 11 inches to short? Confused

Header length is rather important. If I were in your shoes, I'd scan the internet and find what people suggest with a DA170 and those cans. Maybe a call to DA might help?

Thanks Moose, I have found many old post that said it didn't matter with MTW 110s cans because they were not tuned, and many that said more than 11 inches hurt the rpm. I found one post from a guy we know "Wayne M" that said he ran 110s with 11 inch headers on his 170 for more than a year with no issues before upgrading to KS 95 v5s on same 11 inch headers for a few more rpm.
