Here's a link to several hotels. I don't have any personal knowledge of any but I'm sure some are less expensive than the Vineyard Holiday Inn.

LOL! Yep... Toby, you guys are certainly welcome.......in Welcome! But yep... the school is in Welcome, North Carolina at the Childress Racing Shops.
Pretty sure Jerry said we could all take laps around the lot in one of Austin's spare cars....... ;)

Thomas... I'll let Steve Sides confirm... but the normal schedule is in the classroom on Saturday.
My guess is starting at 8:00a, so be there a bit before that
Not sure which room we will be in, but there are usually signs out on the Childress campus for us
(just as long as it isn't that conference room... boy that sure was tight in there! #sarcasm)
Finish up about 5:00 or 5:30 or so....

Then Sunday is out at the field in Mocksville... Start time to be confirmed as I'm not sure on that....
There are normally one or two pilots that fly for the rest of us while we "judge" and discuss the flight.
Really helps tie things together that we learned on Saturday.
Usually done around noon or so on Sunday..... so plenty of time for those of us who need to travel to head home, or usually the field opens up for open flying, but again, I can't confirm that as this isn't my home club.

Hope that helps and see you there!

No Toby, you were not alone - I was going through the thread wondering why Steve was ordering materials for the North Central School when Mike has all the materials and is teaching the school.

The class portion will start at 8:00 am on the Richard Childress Racing campus in Welcome (address and directions on the event page map). There will be signs posted directing to the building where well be. Look for the IMAC flag outside. I expect that it will last most of the day. Lunch will be on your own - either bring something or head to a local restaurant.

For the practical on Sunday we'll start at 9:00 am at the Mocksville field. I expect to wrap up around noontime. I'll have practical handouts (agenda and score sheets) for everyone. There are chairs available at the field.

Sounds good! Do people typically lug out a plane to fly after the practical is over on Sunday? I'd love to get some pointers on...well basically everything about my flying right now! BigGrin

Keith, the rule book / binder contents are available under the downloads tab: http://www.mini-iac.org/Downloads Go to Rules / Guides, you'll see two options, the small size fits in the IMAC red binder, and there is a large version.
If you were referring to something else, disregard Smile

So these Redbooks are just a printout of the rules in a red binder?

Thanks for clarifying I was under the impression it was more than that. I do have a copy printed out.
