I would like to thank Kevin Garland for a very well-run campaign. Kevin pointed out there are some new and fresh ideas I had not thought of but will be going forward. The one that stands out the most is the concentrating on our youth and the youth program and training of new pilots with the guidance and growth to help prepare them for IMAC. I really hope Kevin and I can work together on this and other ideas for IMAC.

I would like to truly thank the members for the outstanding turnout to the polls! Right at 48% voter turnout is simply amazing to me. Win or lose, that is simply amazing that our membership stepped up like they did to voice and vote! I do not want to just thank the votes cast for myself, but all votes cast! While we do not always need to agree, it does show we all want the same things for IMAC!

At the end of the day, I hope we can grow on this membership activity in a positive way. Kevin said it best, in that the Board can not do it all. But we can do much more with involved and dedicated members willing to take point on some projects and ideas and then help them carry the ideas forward.

As well as continue with the projects I believe paramount in membership desires to best of my abilities. The absolute growth of International! NAT’s ideas and possible and achievable alternatives. Electronic Scoring and the facets connected to bringing that to IMAC. Working with Education and the website and bringing more content to the site as to “Judging Consistency” and resources needed to address these needs for all of IMAC.

Also, a congratulations to Rich Whitlow for winning South Central RD. Honestly, I believed both Rich Whitlow and Kevin Schmidt would be fantastic Regional Directors. Knowing them both as I do, I am certain both will put 110% into the continued growth of the region and pilots and contest reach we have worked so hard on together to build for the last 5 years.

As I was to South Central, and others around the other 6 regions, I am always reachable, and that will not change. My direct contact info will remain in every post I make. Growth and strength can come with positive and new directions and ideas for IMAC. I intend to continue with that “Open Door” idea, all be it, Voice, Email or text and available to all interested individuals in Scale Aerobatics.
With the elections behind us, lets turn the corner and get back to the tasks at hand.

I am new to IMAC and started competing in 2018 so I do not know you (Doug) or Kevin. The results show that both of you are well respected and thought of as good leaders for IMAC going forward. Being new I read both of your campaigns, they both had good points but I must say I chose Kevin due to his outlook on youth and 60" plus type electric scale aerobatic class's to increase membership and turnouts. So first seeing you win, then reading the above post that I quoted part of below helps makes me feel better. I really hope you two can work together on making this a reality going forward.

Also this may help some people new to IMAC realize that there is nothing wrong currently with showing up at an event and flying a 60" electric scale aerobatic plane. I was awaiting a header for my plane so rather than stay home I went to my first IMAC contest with a 3DHS 57" Extra, The other flyers and contest director where very accommodating and made me feel very welcome.
