Hello All,
Was wondering if you could give me some information on aircraft that would be allowed to fly in basic?

Thanks,
Eric

3. Open Events:
3.1: The events accommodate aerobatic monoplanes and biplanes which are replicas of types known to have competed in International Aerobatic Club (IAC) competition, or replicas of types known to be capable of aerobatic competition within the airspace know as the ―Box.‖
3.2: All classes except Basic require that the pilot must meet the requirements defined in Rule 3.1. The Basic Class is open to all competitors with a monoplane or biplane aircraft. There is no minimum size requirement for any class. Contest Directors may make an exception for a model of a full scale aircraft that was built for IAC competition, but has not yet competed. Proof of the latter is the responsibility of the contestant.

So to answer your question you can fly any monoplane or biplane and it dose not need to be a scale plane at all but all other classes must go by rule 3.1
These rules can be found on the home page go to the quick links on the right side of the page and click on AMA Rulebook. It would be a good idea to read this it will answer a lot of your questions and if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Hello, Im new to IMAC, and going to fly basic, I heard if the plane is under a 35% you get less of a score, its hard for the judges to see the plane, I have a 35% and a 40%, Good Luck.

Size don't matter ! Well some girls may not agree with that but we don't judge the plane, radio equipment, pilot, color of shoes, or how fast or slow he flies the manuevers ! We judge how well the manuever was flown using the AMA Scale Aerobatics rule book and you can find it on this web site home page on the right hand side under quick links click on the tab that says AMA RULES.
