I've been looking over this thread and have to agree with the statement that eventually we will be forced into using three bladers and headers on our larger engines. Here in Canada we are trying hard to enforce the 96DB rule (on grass) and looking to the Europeans who are way ahead on noise abatement. The reason is they have limited space to fly IMAC (or F3M) and it is becoming the norm here in Ontario too. I will be trying some noise dampening ideas I've seen such as cowl insulation and softer cannister mounting methods in my 43% Extra. I would like to get down to about 93db which is already being done by some with the DA 200 and special headers.
Flying at 6am in my opinion is just plain idiocy and will kill us all!
