What sunglasses are the best for flying into the sun?

I have a pair of prescription Rayban that are polarized. They a good except they let sun light in around the sides, and they don't block out the sun very well when you fly close to the sun.

I have a pair of NYX glasses that have a prescription insert and I love them! Came with 3 lenses and you order the prescription insert separate. Got from here www.piedmontmodels.com/NYXSunglasses.html

Thanks.

I like the fact that NYX will exchange your prescription lenses if your doctor changes prescription. I’m due for an eye exam on the 28th. The last time I got glasses I had to go back and the doctor ended up changing my prescription.

With the rest of your body ( skin ) you need to protect yourself from damaging ultra violet rays which can cause skin cancer. You use sun screen with "SPF".

In the case of your eyes, ultra violet rays will damage your natural lenses in the eye. You WILL develop cataracts in the eye, but much much sooner if you allow continued exposure to UV.

The most imperative thing your eyewear should do for you is protect against UVA and UVB rays. Simple polarized lenses will not shield from UV rays.

Eyewear that "wraps around" the eyes give better shielding that simple "straight" types.

Me too...

Jerry, you should have a hook up for some slick Oakley's though the nascar people.

Find a pair that look bad azz on you and go for it.

I rock the monster dogs and the XLJ half jackets.

Should have a hook up? No, they cut all the free stuff out. We used to get Gargoyles free, then Nike, then Wiley-X, but all of those deals are over. Oakley was one of those products that we were never supposed to get caught wearing because they were a competitor to one of our sponsors.

I did get a pair of Wiley-X Blink with black iridium polarized lenses with 100% UV block. They worked well looking into the sun while flying.

I will get a pair of Oakley Flak jacket prescription glasses next.

I asked a few people at the Fredericksburg contest to let me check out their glasses and I think the Oakley lenses were the best. The Wiley-x is very close, so I don’t think I did too badly with them.

Take a look at Costa Del Mar's also if you haven't. Had mine for about a month now and love them! The lenses truly are different as they advertise, a lot less fatigue on the eyes.
