Do you have an arrow on both sides of that tape? I guess when you roll it over for the other side the rope will get longer or shorter depending on which way you roll it. Have you glue anything yet? ;-)

I have been using merucy ca and the bottles are kind of bulky to get in some areas so I pour some of it on a 1/2oz bottle, much esier to aply, just something to keep in mind.

Primo, what is that on your back wall??
BTW: Nice build. I have a YAK54 sitting om my bench. If I could only get the time to build, let alone fly.

You can see here where I made a template from a pice of balsa to help me locate the second hard point just below the satb tube, I will also use it to make the stab end cap.

I could not help myself I had to just fit one side of the fuse to the motor box, I call this visual progress. Man I'm having a blast building this thing.

Hi Wayne, I was wondering how long it was going to take before you saw that, My dear wife pick it out thinking it was my plane and she had it made for a Christmas gift, very cool.

You should start you build, even if you only work on it for half an hour, sometimes I come home with no energy after a long day of watching a dyno run and don't feel like working on it but once I start time just flies.

I'll see you at Triple Tree.

OK, I'm back at it. The fuse is together I do need to glue in the triangular balsa gussets on the vertical trusses, I'll be using thick mercury ca on this.

My next step will be to start gluing the sheeting together for the fuse foam parts.

Hey Tony did you get your kit yet?

OK The fuse is done for the most part so I call Ty and asked him for some guide dance as to what to do next; my plan was to complete the fuse including top deck and bottom deck except, glad I asked. What I have been working on is getting the sheeting together for the wings and by far that has been the most time consuming. First I made a cardboard template as a guide and found out Denise is very generous on the sheeting I guess to keep newbie’s like myself from making mistakes. It took me 2.5hrs per sheet, thanks God the other pices are smaller. OH I laid down some wax paper to keep the table clean.

Primo if Tony is waiting on a 124 I can tell you for sure he has not got it yet because I'm still cutting parts for the motorboxes, I should finish those parts today and get them boxed up tomorrow and I'll be meeting Dennis Friday afternoon around 4 to 4:30 pm to hand deliver the motorbox kits to him, he drives my way and I drive his way and we meet in the middle. So without these parts he can not ship kits, That is why we hand deliver the parts because if they are broken in shipping he would have to wait until I remade them and I have serval weeks in these parts. That is why I have not flown since Triple Tree and will not get to fly until this contest Saturday morning.Who needs practic anyway !

I finished the motorboxs last night and I'll box them up tonight and I'll meet Dennis Friday afternoon, as far as I know he is still working on the foam parts, he told me that the blue prints were done and the canpoies were done and he had all the other wood parts ready and he was cutting foam. He should be ready to ship kits soon !

Well I had a bad case of the Carden buildingsobmnia so I got up at 12 and worked on it for a little while.

I worked on geting the the foam ready like cutting the wing tube socket, towards the inside of the tube there is a ply support and it was well above the foam so I had to trim this off. I have not glue it yet so if it looks like I may be making a mistake please let me know, I also made a end cap on the socket so that the wing tube has a hard point on witch to rest on and not the foam. you will see what I mean on the pics.

I don't know if you guys can see it on this pic but, should I sand on the wing core to get rid of some of the areas where the wire seem to have taking extra foam. It seems to me that it would show on the skin if I don't, this maybe a small detail, sugestions would be appriciated.

I lightly sand the cores then blow them off before sheeting but don't try to sand them smooth, not needed just get some of the rough off of it.

Also if you are going to sheet with pro-bond I would seal the end of that socket with a full end cap to keep glue from foaming into it when sheeting the wing.

Jerry, Wayne and me TEAM SHORT STROKE!!!!!

OK, I did work on the plane last night, felt good to get back on it. I have the sheeting almost ready to go on the wings, I just need to trim them better, I started to get the root wing caps ready last night. I need opinions on should I use studs or go with the 8/32 socket head bolts. I think using studs makes installing the wings on a little easier. I wil post pics later

I don't think I can make it to the Youth Masters this year. Would love too, just because Jerry is bringing my 4th wheeler back.

OK guys I manage to find some time to work on the plane. On my last post I think I mention working on getting the wing end caps ready. In order to find where to cut the saquare 1/4 inch blocks for the Primo's Studs that is, here's what I did. I extended the incidence line on the plans, then I found center on the end cap and drew a line thru it and on the ends. I position the end cap over the plans and line up this marks, once I was happy with the location I drew a vertical line on the plans using the edge of the wing cap as a guide. I used this point the meassure back to the center of the hard points.

Now that I have the loaction is was just a matter of marking them on the end cap. I used my calipers to scribe the center lines of the hard blocks, I used this lines to center the hard block on the end cap.
